Job summary

A leading company is seeking a Junior Accountant for a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records in Somerset West. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred.
• Working towards accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA etc.) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Process daily transactions and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Contribute to process improvements within the accounting function.

Skills

Working knowledge of IFRS

Excellent proficiency in Xero

Excellent proficiency in MS Excel

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/ Financial or related field

Job Purpose

Vital role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records. Responsible for processing daily transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable. Assist clients with invoicing and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. Successful candidates will contribute to process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounting function and assist with the preparation of tax returns and annual external audits.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting/ Financial or related field
• Internship or previous experience in an accounting role will be preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience
• Working knowledge of IFRS
• Working towards an accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA etc
• Excellent proficiency in Xero and MS Excel
