You will handle general and cost accounting tasks, VAT and SARS-related duties, and support management reporting. The ideal candidate has a BCom in Accounting with 3-5 years of experience, strong analytical skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• BCom Degree in Accounting is required.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks is non-negotiable.
• Experience using SARS eFiling.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Process and review financial transactions and maintain accuracy.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and month-end procedures.
• Prepare journal entries and support financial reporting.
• Monitor cost accounting, budgets, and cost control measures.
• Assist with VAT calculations and SARS compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting:

• Processing and reviewing financial transactions
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Bank reconciliations
• Journal entries and month-end procedures
• Assisting with financial reporting and management accounts

Cost Accounting:

• Monitoring and analysing project and production costs
• Assisting with budget preparation and cost control measures
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Variance analysis and reporting

Tax Administration:

• VAT calculations and submissions
• Assisting with tax compliance requirements
• SARS correspondence and queries
• Maintaining supporting tax documentation

Internal Controls:

• Maintaining and improving financial controls and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Assisting with audits and supporting documentation
• Identifying and mitigating financial risks
