Key Responsibilities
  • Always deliver guest service standards that meet or exceed Hotel Policies & Procedures for every guest interaction.
  • Quickly acquire a thorough knowledge of the ship, procedures, onboard product, daily activities, services provided, itinerary, and ports of call to provide accurate information and answers to guest questions or concerns.
  • Listen to all guest service issues with empathy and understanding, showing genuine interest. Escalate to Supervisor if appropriate.
  • Provide a positive first impression through a warm, welcoming greeting; maintain a professional appearance.
  • Nurture memorable connections by remaining fully engaged through service, leaving a positive last impression.
  • Observe guest preferences and adjust service accordingly, anticipating needs during each interaction.
  • Support the onboard CRUISE program at all times.
  • Participate in All Hands meetings and suggest ideas to improve onboard services.
  • Handle guest complaints and hotel defects with empathy, ensuring responses align with service standards and policies.
  • Document complaints and defects accurately, escalate issues promptly, and follow up until resolution.
  • Resolve guest service issues promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Send appropriate “glitch” notifications to guests as per policies.
  • Manage financial transactions carefully, ensuring cash floats are balanced daily and funds are correctly paid in.
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant hotel policies and procedures.
  • Assist Guest Services Manager with payment or deposit requests.
  • Cash travelers’ checks, provide change, and handle foreign currencies and postage stamps as needed.
  • Settle accounts via credit card, travelers checks, or cash.
  • Access shipboard accounts responsibly, providing copies of folios and explanations as requested.
  • Use hotel systems and tools effectively, maintaining knowledge of products and policies.
  • Hand over pertinent information to colleagues following each shift and act on outstanding issues.
  • Promote a positive environment through cooperation, flexibility, helpfulness, and punctuality.
  • Adhere to policies on cash float and safes at all times.
  • Comply with all hotel, fleet, and regulatory policies and standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge of health standards and assist with sanitation during outbreaks.
  • Follow emergency procedures as directed in the ERP.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Graduate of a recognized hotel or business school OR at least 1-year experience as Front Desk Receptionist.
  • Proficiency in computer programs.
  • Excellent command of English, verbal and written.
