Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a detail-oriented financial accountant to lead and coordinate journal processing and intercompany teams. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring team productivity, approving leave requests, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures. The ideal candidate will have a bookkeeping qualification and 3-5 years of relevant experience, along with a valid driver's license. Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Coordination

    • Lead and coordinate journals, intercompany teams, and functions.
    • Set weekly tasks for the team and monitor their timely and accurate execution.
    • Monitor team productivity and working hours.
    • Approve controllers' leave requests based on operational requirements.
    • Review team performance throughout the year and identify training or development needs.
    • Monitor tools of trade and assist with call logging (e.g., for resolving SAGE issues).
  2. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

    • Review and update SOPs at least annually.
    • Ensure team’s task execution aligns with SOPs.
  3. Journal and Intercompany Processing

    • Complete and review business journals processed across all ADvTECH departments.
    • Review significant intercompany journals for accuracy and approval.
  4. Monthly Intercompany Confirmation

    • Review monthly intercompany confirmations for all departments.
  5. Query Resolution

    • Resolve queries within a 2-day period.
    • Monitor status of Fresh Service queries.
    • Provide guidance on ad hoc queries from brands.
    • Coordinate information required by auditors from controllers.
  6. Ad-hoc Projects

    • Guide and coordinate information/tasks for ad hoc projects (e.g., D365 migration).
  7. Operational Reporting

    • Provide input for accurate and complete monthly operational reports.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • Grade 12 with a bookkeeping qualification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Financial accountant, bookkeeper, or cashbook controller with 3-5 years of experience.
