Job summary

Old Mutual is seeking a Trainee Data Scientist for a 12-month fixed-term internship based in Pinelands. You will assist in designing robust data pipelines and ingesting complex datasets to enable innovative data-driven solutions within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include building scalable ingestion processes, transforming large datasets, and developing ETL/ELT patterns to meet business requirements.

Qualifications

• Essential: Currently completing 3rd or 4th year of a Bcom, BSC, or BBusSci degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology
• Advantageous: Knowledge of data warehouse architectures, ETL/ELT tools (eg, SSIS, SAS, SAP, Apache Spark), and DBA ability across platforms like TSQL or PSQL
• Advantageous: Some experience with Python or another functional language, Cloud (AWS) solutions, and Dev/OPS architecture
