Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with dental practitioners (e.g., dentists, specialists, hygienists), community health administrators, and hospitals.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of each dental office account and develop account contact strategies aligned with the 10 Point Professional Plan guidelines.
- Classify, categorize, and optimize the number of dental offices contacted within the territory.
- Influence dental practitioners and staff to use, display, and recommend Colgate products actively.
- Review account lists regularly and generate creative leads to increase account penetration, collaborating with partner dental distributor representatives as needed.
- Implement detailing plans to increase product usage, recommendations, and sales in existing and new accounts.
- Coordinate sales, marketing, and promotional activities to promote product purchase for in-office use by dental practitioners.
- Leverage distributor salespeople to maximize face-to-face contacts with accounts.
- Work closely with dental distributors, depots, and brokers to ensure timely and accurate product deliveries, maintaining excellent customer service.
- Update CRM databases with relevant contact information, detailing activities, and feedback.
- Maintain detailed customer records and use insights to better address practitioner needs.
- Understand competitor product weaknesses and ethically promote Colgate technologies for improved patient outcomes.
- Conduct 'lunch-n-learn' sessions and product training seminars.
- Participate in distributor and depot sales meetings to introduce new products and communicate marketing and growth strategies.
- Represent Colgate at dental conventions and professional meetings, expanding networking opportunities.
- Respond to detailed professional inquiries about products and scientific literature.
- For Senior and Executive Detailers: Provide training and mentorship to new detailers and salespeople, take on higher responsibility for sales and influence, and serve as a trusted advisor for dental practitioners.
- Develop and implement quarterly journey plans, updating weekly.
- Possess comprehensive oral care science and brand knowledge, translating scientific information into understandable messages tailored for professionals.
- Stay proactive in learning about Colgate's technology and products.
- Report competitive insights and act on them, demonstrating curiosity about brand preferences and recommendation drivers.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in dental sciences or life sciences preferred; minimum 1 year of field sales experience, preferably in oral care, pharmaceuticals, or consumer goods; experience in oral health care is a plus; background in sales, retail, or business development.
