Job description

Deep understanding and analysis of each requirement (understand the why) before coding starts.

Coding as per best practices, thorough unit and functional testing before handover to the quality assurance team.

In-depth troubleshooting for root cause analysis and issue identification.

Collaborate during backlog discussion sessions to ensure a robust design and thorough understanding of the problem statement.

Report on the health of the environment, identify risks and areas of improvement, and plan and implement changes to benefit the company by reducing risk.

Keep abreast of latest technology trends and opportunities with the intention of benefiting the company.

Leave the code in a better state than you found it.

Collaboratively plan, design, implement, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the solution.

Handle escalated support tickets and lend L2 and L3 technical support to the customer success team.

Work with the Information Security team to ensure implementation of security governance, compliance tools, and related controls.

Participate in and support internal and external audits and assessments as required, ensuring ISO compliance.

Core hours are 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, working remotely.

As the company is global, team members are situated in different territories.

Due to key team members being in the United States, working hours between 10:00 and 19:00 would be beneficial during initial onboarding and knowledge transfer.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

Grade 12 or equivalent

6 years experience in a related field (e.g., DevOps, software development, technical analysis, testing).

Knowledge of agile methodologies.

Knowledge of cloud technologies.

Formal qualifications in Information Technology and Software Development.

Attention to detail, ability to think logically, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent oral and written communication.

Good understanding and familiarity with cloud infrastructure; AWS experience is advantageous.

Experience with database management, specifically Postgres.

Experience with logging, security hardening, system documentation, and design.

Self-motivated.
