Senior Java Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer to join a dynamic and innovation-driven team within a leading financial services group.

The organisation is responsible for delivering digitally enabled technology services, driving business transformation, and providing comprehensive digital and data architecture across the entire group.

It operates diverse technology platforms and shared services, ensuring resilience in Cyber and Information Security.

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include following software development best practices, crafting robust full stack applications, and seamlessly integrating systems using web services.

You will also be required to meticulously ensure software functionality meets requirements and take care of non-functional aspects like performance and response.

You will collaborate with diverse teams across the SDLC and proactively identify and address risks/issues, investigating incidents/problems whilst providing valuable support to both software development and project management teams.

Requirements:

1. 4-7 years of solid Java development experience, including J2EE
2. Relevant tertiary IT qualification or equivalent experience
3. Competency in problem-solving and troubleshooting
4. Strong knowledge and experience in OOD, SQL, BDD, web services (SOAP/REST), JSON, JWT, SOA, FTP, and secure FTP
5. Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as ReactJS and Semantic-UI
6. Experience with Redhat Wildfly application container or similar
7. Understanding of EJB3, JUnit, Apache Maven, Spring framework and Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate ORM framework
8. Knowledge of web application development and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
9. Familiarity with design patterns
10. Experience with Atlassian Suite of products (e.g., Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence) would be advantageous
11. Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Kanban and SCRUM
