Job summary
PBT Group in Cape Town is seeking a Java Developer to join a banking-focused team delivering enterprise applications and integration services. You will work across the full development lifecycle from design to deployment in a dynamic, technology-forward environment.
The role requires strong Java/JEE experience, WebSphere, SOA and modern web technologies, with Agile SCRUM practices and mentorship responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of Java development experience.
- At least 4 years of JEE experience.
- Strong background in architecture, design and deployment.
- Hands-on with WebSphere AS, J2EE and open-source frameworks.
- Proficient in Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS.
Responsibilities
- Develop Java integration services and enterprise apps in banking.
- Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet requirements.
- Ensure performance, reliability and security of applications.
- Troubleshoot and maintain existing systems.
- Adhere to Agile SCRUM and contribute to team efforts.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship.
