Job summary

Amazon in Cape Town is seeking a Logistics Administrator for our IT Warehouse to support the operations team by maintaining IT inventory, processing asset requests, and tracking shipments. Qualifications

  • 2+ years of logistics operations experience.
  • English-language communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in technical support.
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products experience, or recent Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/Engineering.
  • Experience working with customers and strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication; Linux/RHEL experience.
  • Previous experience in Administrative role.

Responsibilities

  • Updating and maintaining Asset management system records in line with defined processes.
  • Review hardware retrieval, replacement and new hire requests via ticketing system and escalate where necessary.
  • Liaising with shipping and warehousing teams to book shipments and track status.
  • Review of requests via ticketing and removing roadblocks to conclude shipments.
  • Managing IT assets per department and stock issued for tracking and reporting.
  • Updating asset records with opportunities to improve service delivery.

This role supports Amazon Offices by providing services with equipment requests and/or recovery, where the successful Logistics Administrator will be responsible for providing support to the operations team by maintaining IT inventory, supporting asset receipt and tracking, reviewing administration processes across various systems and processes to meet the requirements of the role. Working with the internal ticketing system and business platforms, tracking the movement of equipment in the warehouse and providing the business with clear insight on the status of requests to meet the ask of the customer is very much the ask of the role. Key job responsibilities
  • Updating and maintaining Asset management system records in line with defined processes, at optimal and high standards of accuracy.
  • Review of hardware retrieval, replacement and new hire requests via ticketing system and escalating where necessary.
  • Liaising with shipping and warehousing teams to book shipments, providing alternative methods to ensure exceptional customer experience and keep track of shipments status to communicate to the business and stakeholders.
  • Review of requests via ticketing and escalating where necessary, removing roadblocks to conclude shipments.
  • Appropriate management of IT assets in accordance with compute reuse processes, reverse logistics, or disposal processes, aligning per department/cost center/organization the appropriate stock issued accurately to track, review and report (replacements or new hire equipment issued.)
  • Updating and maintaining Asset management records in line with defined processes (finding ways to innovate with methods to make improvements, while maintaining a high standard on delivering services.)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years of logistics operations experience
  • Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks
  • Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in technical support
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience, or Bachelor's degree within last 12 months in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related fields
  • Experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities and experience in Linux/RHEL
  • Previous experience in Administrative role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience using computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience using computers and Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in goods receiving, inventory cycle counts and related auditing and stock control functions
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines
  • Experience providing support and service to Customers
  • 1+ years of engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment experience
  • Experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
