Job summary

Circana is seeking an Item Coding Analyst for a temporary contract in Cape Town. You will maintain Fusion and IRIS item coding, audit data integrity, and assist with coding of new CPG items in line with Circana SA standards.

The role requires 2+ years FMCG experience and strong MS Office skills. You will collaborate with team leaders and stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate coding and data handling.

Qualifications

• Degree or Associate’s degree in a relevant field.
• 2+ years FMCG experience.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Maintain Fusion and IRIS item coding and audit data for accuracy and quality.
• Code new CPG items with descriptions, brand, manufacturer and attributes per Circana SA standards.
• Manage day-to-day Fusion categories as directed by the team leader.
• Adhere to coding standards and quality checks; troubleshoot data issues as needed.
• Provide mentoring and training to junior team members.

What will you be doing?

The Item Coding Analyst is responsible for the coding of CPG items according to the Circana SA standards, maintenance of Fusion and IRIS, carrying out audits and data checks and ensuring that feedback and progress on work is communicated to the team leader and other relevant Circana stakeholders in an effective and efficient manner.

This is a temporary contract until December 31st, 2027

Job Responsibilities

Maintains Fusion and IRIS item coding and audits the data ensuring data integrity and quality

• Involved in coding of new CPG items which includes the allocation of item descriptions, brand, manufacturer and item attributes as per the Circana SA standard.
• Takes ownership of the day-to-day maintenance of Fusion categories as assigned by team leader.
• Ensures that coding standards are adhered to
• Audits data and troubleshoots and corrects errors and inconsistencies as required
• Identifies issues, inconsistencies and errors and troubleshoots and resolves as applicable

Coding Projects

• Works closely with the Team Leader in building project plans for large category audits by identifying training, resources and timelines required
• Manage projects and ensuring successful completion within the planned and stipulated time frames
• Provides feedback around updates, issues, work progress to Coding team and affected stakeholders.

Troubleshoots data issues and handles coding related IRIS queries

• Receives communication with regards to issues or inconsistencies identified and investigates and resolves where possible
• Provide coding support role to Client Service teams and ensures that IRIS queries are handled

General

• Successfully completes Item Coding/Operations training modules within 6 months
• Attends further training as and when required
• Provides mentoring and training to junior team members
• Participate in knowledge share sessions within the team and for other Circana SA departments
• Adheres to all relevant policies and procedures
• Any other tasks that are reasonable and relevant
