The efficient functioning and connectivity of our computer network at DRA heavily rely on our IT department. This department has three primary focuses: overseeing the company's technological systems, maintaining the infrastructure, and ensuring the overall functionality of our systems.

Additionally, IT professionals play a crucial role internally by managing computer software and hardware to support our business operations effectively.

We're currently seeking a Support Technician Level 2 who embodies vibrancy and energy. You should thrive on interacting with diverse personalities and be passionate about completing tasks professionally and with a friendly demeanour.

It's essential to cultivate a reputation of reliability, assuring stakeholders that the IT Department is capable of addressing any issue, regardless of its size.

The primary function of this role

You will be responsible for ensuring incidents, requests, and problems within Minopex are resolved and responded to within the required SLA. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve incoming employee requests on-site and remotely across corporate IT, software, networks, and supporting business systems across the EMEA region.

Qualifications

  • A+, N+, ITIL Foundation essential
  • Azure, O365, CCNE, or other IT-related security certifications advantageous
  • Industrial IT and network-related certifications or professional courses advantageous

Experience

  • 3 years of customer service in a centralized service desk environment essential
  • 2 years installing and configuring Windows 10 essential
  • 2 years of providing IT Support in a corporate environment essential
  • 3 years of troubleshooting networks and supporting devices essential
  • 2 years of providing support within high-demand site environments and remote locations advantageous
  • 2 years of basic O365, AD, and Azure administration essential
  • 1 year of basic understanding of Sage and the supporting components advantageous
  • 1 year of traveling to remote locations for on-site support advantageous

Knowledge areas

  • A wide range of technical skill sets is required in resolving Corporate IT incidents essential
  • Interface with different levels of user competency and understanding advantageous
  • Time prioritisation to meet the SLA requirements essential
  • The ability to relay technical information to a non-technical audience essential
  • Collaboration with internal support departments essential
  • Importance of communication and end-user updates essential
  • The implementation and use of different frameworks and methodologies (ITIL, Prince2) advantageous
  • IT operations across large mining or construction sites/projects advantageous

Location

Please take note that the position is site-based and it is preferred that the candidate resides in the Witbank and surrounding areas. Due to the role having a wider responsibility to the region and other sites, some site travel and nights away can be expected.
