Job Title: IT Technician

Location: 2 Lascelles Road, Meadowbrook, Edenvale

Reporting to: IT Manager

Job Purpose:
The IT Technician will provide first-line support for IT-related issues, assisting employees with hardware, software, and network troubleshooting. They will work under the supervision of the IT Manager to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
•Provide basic technical support to employees on hardware, software, and network-related issues.
•Install, configure, and set up computers, printers, and other IT equipment.
•Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system errors and connectivity issues.
•Maintain and update IT asset records and assist with inventory management.
•Support the setup of new employee workstations, including installing required applications.
•Perform routine maintenance on IT systems, ensuring they run efficiently.
•Escalate complex IT issues to senior IT personnel for resolution.
•Follow IT policies and procedures to ensure data security and compliance.
•Assist with software updates, antivirus installations, and backups.
•Provide basic training to employees on IT best practices and security awareness.

Skills and Qualifications:
•Minimum of 1 year experience in the IT field.
•A diploma or certificate in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
•Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
•Understanding of computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting techniques.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Good communication and teamwork skills.
•Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
