It Technician

A leading technology service provider based in Johannesburg is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Technician to join their dynamic team.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, providing technical assistance to employees or clients, installing, configuring, and updating software applications, setting up and troubleshooting printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
2. Network & System Maintenance: Managing and maintaining company networks (LAN / WAN), configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, monitoring system performance and security, performing regular backups and data recovery.
3. Hardware & Software Management: Installing and upgrading computer hardware and operating systems, managing software licenses and ensuring compliance, performing system updates and patch management.

Qualifications & Education:

1. Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network N+, Microsoft Certified: IT Support) are a plus.

Experience:

1. 2-5 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
2. Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
3. Experience with network troubleshooting, hardware repairs, and software installations.

Technical Skills:

1. Strong knowledge of PC hardware, printers, and peripherals.
2. Ability to configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls.
3. Familiarity with Microsoft, Active Directory, and cloud services.

Soft Skills:

1. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
2. Strong communication and customer service skills.
3. Ability to work independently and in a team.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.

Additional Requirements:

1. Valid driver's license and own transport.
2. Willingness to travel.
3. Must be between 25 and 35 years old.
