Job description

Job Title: IT Technician

Job Location: Gauteng, Johannesburg

Deadline: August 31, 2025

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience with data management and general hardware and software support.
  • Grade 12
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • CompTIA Network+ Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Degree or Diploma in an ICT related field (advantageous)
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • MCSA Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Qualification
  • CCNA certified / Fortinet NSE4 - 7 (advantageous)

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:

  • Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation, Audit: Ensure that all ICT reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines, and schedules.
  • Install and configure ICT equipment and software (Including desktops, laptops, printers, data projectors, VC equipment, access control (alarm & biometrics), handheld devices, applications etc.).
  • Maintain desktops and laptops.
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software & resources (100% accuracy of asset register).
  • Identify and prepare old hardware for disposal according to company disposal policy.
  • Provide support on hardware and software (Including desktops, laptops, printers, data projectors, VC equipment, access control (alarm & biometrics), handheld devices, applications etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose all reported issues.
  • Provide 1st level network support: Troubleshooting and resolving issues with networking infrastructure and escalating if necessary.
  • Add and set up new users on all relevant systems.
  • Access the Help Desk to record, accept, or resolve all IT calls logged.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose reported issues on the helpdesk.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advice in your area of responsibility to enhance department effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and effective communication within the organization.
  • Housekeeping (Data Center, UPS Room, Tech Room, and Office equipment installations).
  • Alert Monitoring
  • Manage day-to-day costs with at least one cost-saving initiative per quarter.
  • Seek personal development and learning opportunities (one intervention per quarter).
  • Repair and replace equipment as necessary.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect systems, networks, and data from cyber threats, including antivirus management, access control, and data backup procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation; manage and report non-compliance issues.
  • Model behavior consistent with the company's Safety, Health, and Environment policies.
