Job summary

Interpath in Cape Town is seeking an IT Technical Project Manager to lead delivery of enterprise systems, infrastructure and tooling initiatives. You will work with engineers, architects and vendors to ensure solutions align with long-term architectural strategy.

The role blends hands-on delivery with strong governance, requiring credible stakeholder engagement, risk management and disciplined change control.

Qualifications

• Background in a technical IT role (e.g. infrastructure, cloud, networking or similar).
• Proven experience delivering large-scale IT projects end-to-end.
• Strong technical understanding, with confidence working alongside engineers and architects.
• Experience managing risks, stakeholders and complex delivery environments.
• Comfortable working across agile and/or waterfall methodologies.
• Experience working with third-party vendors.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise in fast-paced environments.
• Must be native or fluent in English.

The IT Technical Project Manager will play a critical role in leading the delivery of enterprise systems, infrastructure and tooling initiatives, ensuring they are implemented effectively, governed appropriately, and aligned to long-term architectural strategy.

This is a technically hands-on project delivery role requiring strong governance alongside the ability to engage credibly with engineers,architectsand third-party providers. You willoperateas part of a globally distributed IT function with UK-based leadership, working flexibly to ensure effective collaboration and stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a portfolio of complex technology initiatives across infrastructure, cloud platforms, security tooling,integrationsand business-critical applications
• Own end-to-end project delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved within scope, time,costand quality parameters
• Translate strategicobjectivesinto structured technical roadmaps and detailed implementation plans
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to review andvalidatetechnical designs, integrationpatternsand non-functional requirements
• Identifyand manage technical,architecturaland operational risks, embedding mitigation strategies into delivery plans
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, stakeholders and third-party vendors, ensuring effective resource and capacity planning
• Operate robust change governance processes, including technical impact assessment and change control
• Ensure smooth transition of solutions into live environments, aligned with IT service management practices
• Support vendor evaluation, technical duediligenceand technology selection processes

Education and Experience Required:

• Background in a technical IT role (e.g. infrastructure, cloud, networking or similar)
• Proven experience delivering large-scale IT projects end-to-end
