IT Team Lead (Service & Ops)

We’re looking for a new Team Lead in our Computer Operator team!

This critical team in our technology division oversees the running of systems by monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, escalating, and reporting critical jobs, data transmission, and environmental threats (power, floods, fire) to drive IT stability, minimize downtime, and ensure all processes are completed efficiently.

What we’re looking for?

• Relevant Diploma or Degree in IT
• 3-5 Years’ experience in:
• Technical IT experience in a server and data monitoring role
• Managing a team (performance, career development, leave, rosters, etc.)
• Vendor & business stakeholder liaison
• Innovating solutions and enhancing team efficiencies & skills
• Resolving in-depth problems to ensure stability in these environments

While your hours would be normal office hours, the team you manage works day/night and weekends, so there would be an on-call expectation.

A day in your life?

Team management

• Communicate and prioritize workflow/expectations for direct reports within the monitoring and data processing team to achieve targets and distribute work equitably. Manage tasks including monitoring systems, data processing, coaching, mentoring, and providing ongoing feedback.
• Project management, service requests, incident, and problem management.

Stakeholder engagement

• Provide feedback to the technology team on incidents/problems and communicate root cause analyses (RCAs) to key stakeholders.
• Prioritize and direct incident workflows to team members.
• Work with the team to identify incident patterns and implement plans to reduce repeat calls.
• Ensure root cause documents are produced and mitigations tracked to completion.

Incident and Problem Management

• Prioritize and direct incident workflows.
• Identify incident patterns and implement reduction strategies.
• Ensure RCA documentation and mitigation tracking.
• Coordinate with vendors to support deliverables for the end-user compute department.
