Job summary

Jobtailor in Randburg is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to own end-user support and Azure-based infrastructure. You will manage user lifecycles in Entra ID and Microsoft 365, deploy Intune, and administer Exchange Online and SharePoint Online, while supporting VPNs, IIS, and Cloudflare DNS.

You will contribute to security and cloud projects and ensure reliable productivity systems. The role requires 3–5 years IT experience, relevant certifications, and a practical mindset for supporting

Qualifications

• Matric and IT diploma/degree, or equivalent certifications (CompTIA A+ and Network+)
• 3–5 years of IT support or systems administration experience
• Experience administering a Microsoft 365 tenant through admin centers
• Experience with Azure services and Azure portal
• Proven hands-on experience administering Microsoft Entra ID
• Experience administering Exchange Online and SharePoint Online
• Windows Server management in Azure VMs
• Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
• Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, DHCP, routing)
• Firewall, VPN configuration and traffic troubleshooting
• PowerShell for user/tenant administration
• Excellent problem-solving and patience with non-technical users
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
• Microsoft certifications (MD-102 or AZ-104) or equivalents

Responsibilities

• Own end-user support requests and resolve issues end-to-end
• Manage user lifecycle in Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365

Job description

• Own and resolve end-user support requests end to end, including mailbox and Exchange Online issues, account access, permissions, MFA, authentication problems and connectivity faults


• Manage user lifecycle across Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365, including onboarding, offboarding, group and license management, and permissions troubleshooting


• Configure, deploy and maintain laptops and endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune


• Administer SharePoint Online and Teams access, permissions and site structure


• Support VPN access and remote connectivity for staff


• Log, track and document incidents, escalating to the Head of Business Systems and Operations where appropriate


• Maintain Certificate Servers and IIS, including deployment, configuration and ongoing service management


• Manage DNS hosting and records, including Cloudflare


• Administer firewall rules, policies and configurations on Sophos appliances


• Own backup management, scheduling and restore verification


• Monitor and manage Azure resource allocation, including App Services, SQL Databases and networking


• Contribute to internal IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives


• Serve as primary owner of day-to-day end-user support and custodian of internal productivity systems


• Work with engineering and infrastructure teams on Azure-based infrastructure and cloud security best practices

Requirements

• Matric, plus an IT diploma or degree, or CompTIA A+ and Network+


• 3–5 years of IT support or systems administration experience


• Experience administering a Microsoft 365 tenant through admin centers, including license and user management


• Experience with Azure services and Azure portal, including cloud service models and resource management


• Proven hands‑on experience administering Microsoft Entra ID


• Experience administering Microsoft Exchange Online and SharePoint Online


• Experience administering Windows Server in a cloud-hosted environment (Azure VMs), including roles and services, patching and general server management


• Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365


• Solid working knowledge of networking concepts: IP, DNS, DHCP and routing


• Practical understanding of business firewalls, including rules and policies, NAT, port forwarding, VPN configuration and troubleshooting blocked traffic


• Working knowledge of PowerShell for user and tenant administration


• Excellent problem‑solving skills and patience supporting non‑technical users


• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport


• One current associate‑level Microsoft certification: MD-102 preferred or AZ-104; equivalent hands‑on experience may be accepted


• Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
