IT Systems & Support Administrator required in Pretoria.
This position plays a pivotal role in supporting IT infrastructure and collaboration tools for a boutique international financial services firm.
The Remote IT Systems & Support Administrator will oversee Microsoft 365 systems, licensing, cybersecurity practices, and remote technical support across teams in South Africa, the US, and Mauritius.
A strong background in SharePoint administration (or similar platforms like Google Workspace or Confluence) is essential to ensure optimal digital collaboration, user access management, and data governance.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter with experience in remote support and a solid grasp of endpoint protection, system access, and cloud-based tools.
Salary: R60 000 – R65 000 per month.
Key Responsibilities:
SharePoint & Collaboration Tools Administration:
- Serve as primary administrator for two SharePoint sites (each with 4–6 users).
- Manage permissions, access groups, document libraries, and site structure.
- Guide team members on SharePoint best practices for storage, searchability, and version control.
- Develop and maintain SharePoint usage policies and documentation.
- Provide occasional onboarding and annual refresher training on SharePoint and collaboration tools.
- Recommend enhancements or third-party integrations for improving team workflows.
IT Systems & Licensing:
- Administer Microsoft 365 user accounts, licenses, and configurations (incl. Exchange, Teams, OneDrive).
- Maintain Adobe Creative Cloud licensing and provisioning.
- Manage device setup, user access, and email account provisioning and deprovisioning.
- Archive email communications and ensure data retention compliance.
- Troubleshoot remote connectivity, printer setups, Outlook configurations, and basic desktop issues.
Cybersecurity & Endpoint Protection:
- Maintain Panda or similar antivirus systems across user endpoints.
- Ensure security patches, updates, and scans are consistently applied.
- Monitor and respond to endpoint alerts or issues.
- Provide yearly cybersecurity training covering email safety, password hygiene, and phishing awareness.
- Make recommendations for email security solutions (e.g. Mimecast, Proofpoint).
- Uphold IT security policies and access control protocols.
Reporting & Strategic Input:
- Generate quarterly IT and SharePoint usage reports for senior leadership.
- Monitor license usage and make recommendations for scaling or cost-saving.
- Advise on IT asset purchases (e.g. laptops) and oversee remote setup and configuration.
- Contribute to business continuity discussions from an IT systems perspective.
Requirements:
Education & Certifications:
- Diploma or degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- Certifications in Microsoft 365 Administration or SharePoint (e.g. MS-102, MS-600) highly advantageous.
- Training or certification in cybersecurity or endpoint protection (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CISSP basics) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years in IT support, systems administration, or collaboration platform management.
- Proven experience managing SharePoint (or similar digital workspace platforms) for small to medium-sized teams.
- Familiarity with license management for Microsoft, Adobe, and endpoint security software.
- Previous exposure to international team support and working across multiple time zones is a plus.
