It Systems Administrator Centurion

Description: Managed Talent Solutions, a division within Datacentrix, is looking for X10 IT Infrastructure Systems Administrators for one of their clients based in Centurion.

This is a month contract.

The Systems Administrators will be required to do maintenance, management, and support of the company's data centre infrastructure.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

1. Matric plus Diploma in Information Technology or related field
2. Certifications: MCSA, MCSE or MCSD
3. Certification: MCITP Enterprise Administrator (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) on Windows Server
4. Certification: VMWare Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV)
5. Certification: MCDBA
6. Software Patch management, uptime monitoring, and top-tier support
7. Extensive knowledge and experience on virtualization technologies (VMWare and Hyper-V)
8. Networking skills, configuration of switches, IP ranges, and VLANs (VPN, Cisco routers, Satellite networks, Switches, VLANs, VOIP, etc.)
9. Skills and experience in data-center hardware and software support and installation
10. Good knowledge of backup solutions

Responsibilities:

1. Administer and manage processes as part of a systems administration team and be responsible for selected processes in the data-center
2. System administration skills required will create a balanced team combination with cross-functional skills and experience to be able to support the following systems and components in the data-center: SCCM, SCOM, VMWare, Active Directory and DNS, Back-ups and archiving, Veritas, Storage including a storage area network (SAN), Symantec antivirus
3. Patch management (Ivanti)
4. Server management (Microsoft Windows)
5. Server hardware and software support
6. Provide support to provincial and municipal offices
7. Manage and monitor anti-virus products across the organisation
8. Manage and monitor patch management across the organisation
9. Resolve third-level support problems
10. Maintain 99.9% uptime of data-centre operations
11. Server maintenance and monitoring including knowledge of SCOM
12. Monitor and maintain the load balanced internet information servers (IIS)
13. Responsible for the overall infrastructure architecture, including compliance with the company's enterprise information architecture
14. Knowledge of security Firewalls
15. Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (Forefront TMG), formerly known as Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA Server)
16. Knowledge and experience in virtualization technologies, with special focus on VMware
17. Coordinate and support team members of systems administrators
18. Review change requests for completeness and analyse, prioritise, categorise, approve, and schedule change requests
19. Monitor the successful completion of all change requests, including change planning, building, testing, and implementation to ensure that these processes follow the change schedule
20. Review and evaluate the change process
21. Manage and monitor data storage using storage area network (SAN) technologies
22. Knowledge of Microsoft Clustering services
23. Manage the VMWare environment
24. Schedule and perform maintenance of systems
25. Provisioning of datacenter infrastructure
26. Evaluate new technologies and prepare documentation
