Job Description

We’re on the lookout for a proactive IT Support Technician to join our collaborative IT team! You’ll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality technical support and ensuring smooth IT operations across Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

You’ll work closely with the IT Manager based in Australia and provide frontline support across multiple regions. You’ll be responsible for managing helpdesk requests, resolving hardware and software issues, maintaining IT assets, and contributing to IT projects and system improvements. You’ll work in a dynamic environment supporting a growing team within a reputable insurance organisation.

About The Role

As the IT Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for IT-related issues, providing Level 1 and basic Level 2 support. You’ll manage helpdesk tickets, assist with hardware/software setups, and play an active role in IT projects. Expect to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 and basic Level 2 technical support to approximately 180 users across three regions.
  • Manage and resolve incidents and service requests via the IT ticketing system, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain hardware and software for end users.
  • Monitor IT systems and escalate alerts or issues as needed.
  • Support network, telephony, and remote access systems.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and lifecycle documentation.
  • Assist with software deployment, patching, and compliance.
  • Participate in IT projects and maintain accurate documentation.

Working Hours

This role requires early morning starts aligned to Australian business hours. Flexibility and willingness to work these hours are essential.

Location

This is an onsite role based in George, Garden Route, South Africa.
