Job description

We are looking for a skilled IT Specialist to provide technical support and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all hardware, software, and network systems are functioning efficiently and securely.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues for staff and end-users.
3. Monitor network performance and ensure uptime.
4. Implement and manage security protocols to safeguard the organization's data.
5. Maintain backups and disaster recovery systems.
6. Assist in the setup of new IT systems and software solutions.
7. Provide technical support, training, and guidance to staff.
8. Perform regular system maintenance and updates to ensure efficiency.
9. Document IT processes and systems for future reference.

Qualifications & Requirements (South Africa) :

1. Minimum : Matric / Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematics and English.
2. Preferred : Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
3. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are beneficial.
4. Experience : 2 years of experience in IT support or network administration.
5. Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and network protocols.
6. Experience with cloud computing, database management, and network security.
7. Certifications :
8. CompTIA A+ or Network+ beneficial for technical support roles.
9. Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) or MCSE advantageous for system administration.
10. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar networking certification.
11. ITIL Certification beneficial for understanding IT service management.
12. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
13. Excellent communication skills for user support and training.
