Job description

A vacancy exists for an IT Security Operations Analyst based at Life Healthcare Head Office in Dunkeld, reporting to the Security Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing access to domain resources and business systems within the banking environment, including the day-to-day administration of user accounts and privileges throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include security administration, user provisioning on network resources and internal systems, primarily through Active Directory and various business applications.

Critical Outputs
  1. Operational Support: Develop and maintain policies for system security and user access, troubleshoot authorization issues, and manage security roles and access control lists.
  2. Security Monitoring: Implement, monitor, and report on security solutions, update security patches, and ensure security controls are in place on endpoints.
  3. Access Management: Provision and maintain access to network resources such as shared folders, drives, and internet access.
  4. Security Procedures: Document and enforce security procedures to protect against unauthorized modifications or disclosures.
  5. Reporting: Provide management reports on security performance and conduct security audits and reviews.
  6. Incident Response: Remediate security findings, monitor logs for suspicious activity, and respond to security breaches.
  7. Security Enhancements: Test new security software, configure security systems, perform vulnerability assessments, and develop disaster recovery plans.

Additional responsibilities include supporting IT projects, ensuring compliance with governance processes, managing risks, and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT security systems and administration.
  • Experience across multiple IT platforms is advantageous.
  • Background in healthcare, insurance, banking, or financial services preferred.
  • Relevant IT qualification at NQF 7 level or higher, such as an Advanced Diploma.
  • Security certifications like CISSP, CEH, or Security+ are desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of security controls, concepts, and best practices.
