Job summary

A well-established medical devices company is seeking a skilled IT Security Engineer in Pretoria. You will lead company-wide cybersecurity operations, manage security tools, ensure compliance with standards, and protect infrastructure from vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate has experience in penetration testing, incident detection, AWS cloud security, and drafting security policies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in cloud security, particularly AWS.
• Experience with SOC2, ISO 27032, ISO 14971 or HiTrust is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of container security, firewalls, EDR, IDS/IPS, SOAR, scripting, and security frameworks (e.g., MITRE).

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and compliance documentation.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and schedule penetration tests.
• Manage incident response processes and risk mitigation strategies.
• Design secure infrastructure and maintain cybersecurity documentation.

Candidates must have experience in penetration testing, incident detection, AWS cloud security, and drafting security policies.

Requirements

• Engineering degree (Computer, Software, Mechanical or Electronic).
• 3+ years experience in cloud security, particularly AWS.
• Hands-on with AWS services: IAM, ECS/EKS, GuardDuty, WAF, etc.
• Experience with SOC2, ISO 27032, ISO 14971 or HiTrust is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of container security, firewalls, EDR, IDS/IPS, SOAR, scripting, and security frameworks (e.g., MITRE).

Preferred Certifications (advantageous)

• OSCP, PNPT, CISSP, CCSP
