IT & Robotics Teacher

St Alban’s College, one of South Africa’s leading independent boys’ boarding and day schools in Pretoria, seeks to employ an IT and Robotics teacher.

We are seeking to attract an experienced and highly qualified professional to augment a strong and highly successful IT Department.

The successful applicant must be a dynamic and passionate educator with the ability to inspire students to develop their learning beyond the classroom.

The successful candidate must have:

• 5 years’ experience teaching IT at an IEB school
• Knowledge of Java and SQL or MySQL
• Working knowledge of Robotics and working with Raspberry Pi (or equivalent electronics)
• Be a lifelong learner and be passionate about their own growth and learning
• Be a collaborator to ensure there is a common learning vision and mission that encourages inclusiveness, staff engagement, student voice, research and professional development through action research
• Be able to contribute to the overall enrichment of the school community by supporting the academic program
• Be able to offer unique opportunities for collaboration between departments
• Be able to facilitate the planning and programming of research, and information literacy skills
• Be proficient in 21st century learning paradigms and the use of technology
• Be able to collaborate and engage authentically with teenage boys
