Job description

Role Overview
The Information Technology Project Manager is responsible for leading IT projects from the client side, focusing on managing external vendors and ensuring timely, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of project outcomes. This includes defining scopes of work, establishing PMO governance, overseeing project lifecycles (especially using Waterfall methodologies), and ensuring benefits realisation is tracked and delivered.
The role requires deep experience in both software and infrastructure environments, with particular emphasis on managing Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 F&O) and other ERP implementation projects. The IT Project Manager also plays a critical role in aligning project objectives with organisational strategy and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
  • Define and oversee project scopes, deliverables, and schedules using structured methodologies (primarily Waterfall).
  • Coordinate vendor activities, manage third-party deliverables, and ensure adherence to defined project requirements.
  • Drive benefits realisation, project close-out, and transition to business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
  • Monitor and report on project status, cost, risks, issues, and stakeholder updates.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all vendor-related activities from the client side.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and resource allocations.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and communications planning across all phases of the project.

Governance & Planning
  • Contribute to the development of project governance and standardisation processes.
  • Establish work breakdown structures (WBS), project charters, schedules, and reporting baselines.
  • Lead project assurance and quality reviews.

Risk, Change & Performance Management
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks, issues, and project dependencies.
  • Maintain change control logs, scope documentation, and requirements traceability matrices.
  • Ensure alignment with strategic goals through consistent tracking and evaluation of project outcomes.

Team Leadership & Innovation
  • Lead small to mid-sized project teams with clear direction, coaching, and performance oversight.
  • Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned and innovation-driven planning.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Information Technology or related field).
  • 15–20 years of overall IT experience (software and infrastructure).
  • 8–10 years as a Project Manager, focused on IT projects using Waterfall methodology.
  • 2–3 years of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O) project management experience.
  • Experience in ERP implementations (other than D365 also advantageous).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience using MS Project for planning and tracking.
  • Vendor/contract management experience is essential.
  • Change management experience preferred.
  • Formal certification in Waterfall project management methodologies (ideal but not mandatory).

  • Analytical Thinking: Navigates complexity, anticipates issues, and develops innovative solutions.
  • Communication: Delivers clear, tailored communication to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptability: Responds well to change, demonstrates situational awareness, and maintains professionalism under pressure.
  • Customer Focus: Creates value-aligned outcomes by placing customer needs at the centre of decision-making.
  • Tools Proficiency: Advanced experience in MS Project, project dashboards, D365 F&O systems, and collaboration tools.
