Job summary

CohesionX is seeking a hands-on IT Infrastructure & Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Pretoria-based team. This role sits between internal IT operations and cloud/DevOps support, and it's not a traditional helpdesk.

You will own infrastructure tasks end to end, from provisioning a new developer laptop to setting up customer cloud environments. You’ll work across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Windows and Linux, networking, DNS, VPNs, and CI/CD pipelines with tools like Azure DevOps,

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of practical IT infrastructure, systems administration, cloud or DevOps experience.
• Familiar with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID; Windows and Linux.
• Networking, DNS, VPNs and firewalls.
• Experience with Intune, Cloudflare, Azure DevOps, Docker, PowerShell/Bash, Terraform or CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal IT tasks including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and endpoint management.
• Provision Windows and Linux environments, and manage cloud resources on AWS/Azure.
• Handle networking, VPN, DNS, SSL/TLS, and security controls.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure deployment using Azure DevOps, Docker and Terraform.

Role Purpose

We’re looking for a hands-on IT Infrastructure & Cloud Operations Engineer to join CohesionX.

We’re an AI software company with a team of around 30 people, and this role sits between internal IT operations and cloud/DevOps support. This is not a traditional helpdesk role. We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of infrastructure tasks end to end - from setting up a new employee laptop to provisioning a customer cloud environment.

What You’ll Own

Internal IT (~25%)

Microsoft 365, Entra ID and user administration

Intune and endpoint management

Laptop setup, formatting, onboarding and offboarding

Endpoint security, patching and access control

Office networking, Wi-Fi and VPN

IT policies, asset management and general technical support

Provisioning Windows and Linux VMs

AWS and Azure resource administration

Setting up development, staging and customer environments

Cloudflare, DNS, SSL/TLS and tunnels

Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline support

Deployment and infrastructure troubleshooting

Access, credentials and secrets management

Docker and related infrastructure tooling

Experience & Capability

Ideally 2–5 years of practical IT infrastructure, systems administration, cloud or DevOps experience.

You should be comfortable with:

Microsoft 365 and Entra ID

Windows and Linux

Networking, DNS, VPNs and firewalls

Git and software deployment concepts

Troubleshooting infrastructure problems independently

Experience with Intune, Cloudflare, Azure DevOps, Docker, PowerShell/Bash, Terraform or CI/CD pipelines would be a strong advantage.

You don’t need to know every technology on day one.

We’re looking for someone with strong fundamentals who enjoys figuring things out, takes ownership and wants to grow deeper into cloud infrastructure and DevOps.
