A leading financial services company in South Africa is seeking an IT Compliance Specialist to enhance their compliance team. The successful candidate will engage in compliance risk management and ensure adherence to IT regulatory requirements and internal policies. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–7 years' experience in financial services compliance.

  • Strong understanding of IT laws like POPIA, PAIA, GDPR.

About Group Compliance

Group Compliance is looking for a dynamic individual to join the Group Financial Crime Compliance team.

The core purpose of the department is to ensure that Discovery Group's core purpose and reputation are protected.

The immediate 3-year ambition is to be the most respected and trusted compliance practice in the financial services sector.

The department aims to be visible, trusted, and respected.

Key Purpose

The successful candidate will carry out day-to-day Compliance Risk Management duties to ensure that the company complies with IT regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Responsibilities include supporting and providing technical guidance on IT legislative compliance, reviewing compliance policies, conducting audits, analyzing regulations, and maintaining industry best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB), Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years' experience in financial services compliance or compliance risk management.
  • Certificates in Compliance Management, Cyber Security, AI, CISA, CISSP, IAPP (CIPP / CIPM), ISACA, CGRC.
  • Working knowledge of IT laws such as POPIA, PAIA, GDPR, ISO, King IV.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
