Job summary

A leading grocery retailer in South Africa is seeking a Business Analyst to facilitate business requirements and translate them into solutions. The role includes developing business analysis approaches, leading workshops, and contributing to testing. Ideal candidates should have a relevant qualification in IT or Business and experience in Agile methodologies. This is a permanent position located in the Western Cape.

Introduction

This role is responsible for facilitating and defining business requirements and translating them into effective business solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop a Business Analysis Approach: Determine applicable BPA approach based on project context.
  2. Lead the definition and review of business processes: Understand current processes, define future processes, and document them.
  3. Facilitate Business Requirements Workshops: Plan and execute sessions to elicit and define system requirements, develop Business and Functional Requirement Specifications, and contribute to System Requirement Specifications.
  4. Contribute to Testing and Training Materials: Assist in testing to ensure systems meet requirements, coordinate and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Qualifications
  • Relevant 3-year qualification in Information Technology or Business-related field.
  • Faculty Training Institute Business Analysis qualification is advantageous.
Additional Criteria
  • Understanding of Retail Clothing business, Buying, Planning & Product Development Systems.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, and Business Analyst roles within Agile frameworks.
  • Proven stakeholder relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Expertise in process modelling, gap analysis, and requirements engineering.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously.
  • Research skills related to technology trends and best practices.
  • Data analysis skills to identify trends and present solutions.
  • Results-oriented with good planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build relationships and adapt to new work environments.
