The role :

The IT Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring that network-related incidents in our IT production environment are properly recorded, monitored, and resolved following established processes.

The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining computer networks to ensure efficient and secure communication and data transfer systems within the organization.

This position may also require providing support to the Country IT Manager and assisting with IT operations and initiatives across the African region as needed.

Key Performance Areas :

• Designing and implementing new network solutions and improving current networks
• Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues
• Reporting network status to stakeholders
• Configuring firewalls, routers, switches, and other network equipment to optimize security and efficiency
• Investigating network faults and arranging scheduled upgrades
• Updating network equipment firmware
• Supporting network hardware including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP
• Evaluating network costs and seeking cost-effective solutions
• Managing procurement of network equipment and subcontractors
• Ensuring vendor standards meet business expectations

Your profile :

• At least 10 years of experience managing medium to large enterprises' networks
• CCNP Qualification (NQF 6 or 7)
• Valid driver's license
• Physical and medical ability to work in an underground mining environment
