Job Purpose

The IS Support Coordinator is responsible for providing first-line technical support and coordinating all IT-related activities within the AGL Terminals Cape Town branch. This includes desktop support, hardware and software troubleshooting, network maintenance coordination, and user training. The role ensures the smooth functioning of IS systems to support terminal operations effectively.

Job Function
  • Function as the first point of contact for IT-related issues within the branch (onsite and remote).
  • Provide desktop, printer, and application support to end-users.
  • Log and manage support tickets, ensuring timely resolution or escalation as needed.
  • Consult with central IS teams and external service providers to coordinate branch-specific IT projects or support interventions.
  • Monitor the performance of local IT infrastructure and escalate issues proactively.
  • Ensure all hardware and software comply with group IT standards and policies.
  • Maintain accurate IT inventory records (hardware, software, licenses).
  • Assist in onboarding new employees by setting up user accounts, devices, and access permissions.
  • Coordinate regular maintenance, backups, and updates in conjunction with the regional IS team.
  • Provide basic user training and support to improve digital literacy and system efficiency.
  • Participate in audits, compliance checks, and the implementation of cybersecurity measures.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Diploma or Certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an IT support or coordination role.
  • Experience working in a logistics, terminal, or industrial environment is an advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows OS, and common business applications.
