Placements24 is seeking an Irrigation Systems Engineer in Kimberley, Northern Cape to design, implement, and maintain efficient irrigation solutions for agricultural clients.

The role requires a strong engineering background with practical knowledge of agricultural water management, CAD proficiency, and the ability to coordinate installation, training, and ongoing support for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering with irrigation specialization.
• Minimum 4 years designing/managing agricultural irrigation systems.
• Proficient in CAD software for irrigation design (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Strong hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and water management knowledge.
• Experience with drip, sprinkler, pivot irrigation methods.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, controllers, and sensors.
• Excellent problem solving and attention to detail.
• Strong project management and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Design customized irrigation systems based on client needs and data.
• Conduct site assessments to gather data for design.
• Prepare drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
• Oversee procurement of irrigation equipment.
• Supervise installation and commissioning of systems.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing irrigation systems.
• Implement water conservation strategies in designs.
• Provide technical training and client support.
• Stay updated on irrigation tech and water management.
• Ensure compliance with standards and safety in the Northern Cape.
