Placements24 is seeking an Irrigation Specialist in Upington, Northern Cape to design, implement and manage efficient irrigation systems for arid agricultural regions.

You will work with farmers to assess water resources, develop irrigation plans and optimize system performance while conserving water and maximizing crop yields. The role requires hydrology, agronomy, and modern irrigation technologies expertise.

Qualifications

• Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Hydrology, or a related field with an irrigation focus.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in irrigation system design, installation, and management.
• Strong understanding of water management principles and water-efficient irrigation technologies.
• Proficiency in using irrigation design software and tools.
• Knowledge of the agricultural landscape and water challenges in the Northern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the installation of various irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, pivot).
• Conduct water audits and analyze soil moisture data to determine optimal irrigation schedules.
