Our client within the Fresh Produce industry requires a hands-on invoice clerk/ data capturer. Our client deems organizational roles as an opportunity for personal development. The person is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting systems of the facility, ensuring accuracy as the utmost importance. This role involves processing of accounting documents throughout numerous businesses, while reporting to the Financial Controller. You need to be energetic and hard working.

Salary: Market related

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Take orders on whatsapp, email and telephone
2. Call customers for out of stock items/ delays in deliveries
3. Create, send, and follow up on invoices
4. Verify and reconcile invoices
5. Ensure accurate data entry
6. Communicate with vendors and internal departments
7. Manage client requests and queries
8. Maintain databases
9. Collect supplier statements
10. Assist with reconciling supplier statements

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Experience:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail, distribution, production or warehousing environment, preferably within the agricultural or retail fresh produce industry.
2. General knowledge of the fresh produce industry and fresh products that are supplied.
3. Exposure to fresh produce warehousing will be beneficial
4. Must have strong retail experience covering FMCG
5. Knowledge of food safety standards, and inventory management systems.
6. Knowledge of product packaging (quality and ordering).
7. Strong knowledge of fresh produce varieties, quality standards, and market dynamics.
8. Track record for excellent customer service.
9. Computer literate with experience in using MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook).
10. Good communication skills (written and verbal), specifically in English and Afrikaans (Xhosa would be advantageous), with the ability to interact with people of all levels.
