Our client in the Financial Services Industry is currently looking to employ an Investment Specialist - Business Development in Sandhurst, Johannesburg.

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary (university degree) qualification is required.
  • Experience in Investment Management, Distribution, or Sales in Financial Services (e.g., Investment Analyst, Junior PM, Wealth Manager, Business Development Manager, Investment Specialist, or Investment Broker Consultant).
  • Experienced in the fundamentals of Investment Markets and Economic drivers of Capital Markets.
  • Experience in the investment product provider industry would be highly advantageous.
  • An energetic business professional from an Investment / Insurance role servicing a Distribution Channel would be an advantage.
  • Personal Energy (irrespective of age) is a critical advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal or people skills.
  • Authentic interest in investments and capital markets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Marketing and sales skills are a strong advantage.
  • Ability to present publicly to an audience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally at short notice.
  • Comfortable operating on business-related social media sites.
  • Analytical and quantitative modelling skills are not required for this role.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, independently, and unsupervised.

Responsibilities and expectations (but not limited to):

  • The candidate will be deployed in the investment team but with the responsibility of selling and marketing their house view investment process and investment solutions ADX Multi Manager.
  • Product Range, DFM Product Range, and their Private Client Solutions (Private Share Portfolios) into their Network of Advisors.
  • In addition to this, the candidate will also market their PCS proposition into a targeted audience of Independent Financial Advisors.
  • The candidate will be required to fundamentally understand the macro-economic environment as well as the underlying investment decision-making rationale for portfolio positions.
  • The candidate must be technically competent in investment management disciplines to present the marketing case for investment into house view.
  • The role requires travelling into the regional network and presenting the case for investing in the ADX Range of House view portfolios.
