Investment Portfolio Analyst (Portfolio Management Team)
Reports to Investments Manager
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree which can be FAIS recognised
- B.Com., B.Bus.Sci, B.Sc. (Maths, Accounting, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Physics) or equivalent.
- Open to other tertiary qualifications depending on experience and evidence of quantitative abilities.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in investments
- Will be required to be a FAIS compliant representative or work towards obtaining that status
Purpose of job
- Work in collaboration with more senior members of the team to offer meaningful analysis and support to successfully manage a suite of portfolios
- Provide portfolio analytics services for discretionary managed clients
- Monitor and assess incumbent and current managers alongside portfolio managers and research teams
- Understand portfolio construction and investment objectives
- Ensure portfolios are updated in systems and instructions executed accurately and timely
- Analyze and monitor exposures and risks continuously
- Support the Portfolio Management team

- Experience in portfolio construction and manager research beneficial

- Strong Excel skills; experience with Morningstar, Bloomberg, FactSet, programming languages advantageous
- Generate, interpret, and analyze various reports and data
- Client reporting and communication
- Data retrieval, validation, reconciliation, and analysis
- Understand markets, risks, tools, and systems
- Assist in portfolio construction and monitoring
- Monitor investment managers and portfolios
- Generate and review reports, present findings
- Contribute to process improvements and automation
- Perform ad hoc analyses and manual statistics recalculations
