INVESTMENT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (INSTITUTIONAL) CBD Cape Town Western Cape
R450,000 - R600,000 TCTC Per Annum plus performance-based bonus
Highly innovative and established Asset Management firm is currently recruiting an Investment Operations Specialist to join their dynamic CRM Team.
The ideal candidate will be a highly professional, technically sound, client-centric professional with strong numerical, accounting, interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and multitasking skills.

Main Purpose of the Role:
Ensure accurate execution of the institutional fund administration functions (private and public sector clients) within set timeframes, while providing daily support to the Investment team across various investment portfolios.
- Timely processing and administration of client flows and monitoring cash balances
- Full onboarding of new clients
- System or transaction processing for transitions, partial take-ons, and take-offs
- Daily performance review, reporting, and liaising with the Investment Risk team
- Execution of daily money market transactions
- Performing daily NAV calculations
- Cash management and administration, including electronic banking
- Investment instructions and administration reconciliations for pooled unit trusts and life products
- Daily data monitoring, review, and coordination with the data support team for enhancements
- Monthly and quarterly reporting to clients
- Management of private and public market fund reviews, including management accounts and amortisation schedules
- Coordination of annual financial audits for funds
- Client audit certificate reviews
- Preparation, review, and distribution of quarterly SARB reports, Reg 28, Reg 30, and C48 reports
- Follow-up on bank and scrip recons queries
- Maintenance of annual procedure documentation
- Management and invoicing of management and performance fees, including payments
- Monitoring of equity derivatives, fixed income, money market, and international trades
- Review and coordination of corporate actions with portfolio managers and administrators
- Maintaining relationships with third-party service providers such as administrators, brokers, custodians, and consultants
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- B.Com Honours or relevant finance/investment degree
- At least 5 years of relevant technical accounting experience within asset or fund management
- Knowledge of unit trusts and life products
- Experience working with both public and private sector clients
- Experience in investment reporting to clients
- Technical knowledge of investment performance and fund positioning
- Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.) and strong data management skills
- Knowledge of PowerBI is advantageous
