Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Operations Administrator. This is a unique opportunity to work with a Boutique Asset Management business based in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities
- Fund Administration and Operations: Ensure the accurate and timely processing of client flows, new client take-on, transitions, partial take-ons, and take-offs.
- Daily Performance Checking/Review and Reporting: Liaise with the Investment Risk team to provide daily performance updates and reviews.
- Cash Management: Coordinate and administer daily money market transactions, electronic banking, and investments in pooled products.
- Data Monitoring and Review: Monitor and review daily data, coordinate with the data support team, and identify opportunities for enhancements.
- Reporting: Review and distribute monthly and quarterly reports to clients, and prepare management accounts and amortisation schedules for private market funds.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate annual financial audits for private markets funds and review client audit certificates.
- Banking Reconciliations: Review and follow up on query resolution for bank/scrip recons.
- Procedure Documentation: Review and maintain annual procedure documentation.
- Management and Performance Fee Calculations: Calculate and process payments for management and performance fees.
- Trade Monitoring: Monitor equity, derivative, fixed income, money market, and international trade activity.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Investment Fund Administration: Substantial experience in investment fund administration and operations gained in an asset management back-office environment.
- Professional Approach: Highly professional approach/work ethic, strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, ability to multi-task, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Data Management: Strong data management skills, numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, and ability to perform under deadline pressure.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking, ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team and stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel Skills: ADVANCED knowledge of MS Excel.
Education
BSc, BCom (Honors) or finance-related degree.
