Job description

Our client is a major Global Corporate Bank – due to their global expansion and building of their South African operations, they now have a new role based in their Cape Town office.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective marketing of all money market products, to facilitate the day-to-day funding and to focus on future funding strategies in accordance with the applicable policies and procedures of the Corporate Bank.

Key Role activities:

  1. To market money market products with a view to maintaining existing relationships and develop new business and to increase the client deposit book.
  2. To assist the marketing department in attracting new business.
  3. To achieve a targeted increase in customer numbers.
  4. To guide and assist in the marketing of Treasury products.
  5. To ensure that customer needs are met for all money market transactions.
  6. To remain in constant contact with our Johannesburg branch.
  7. To maintain good working relationships with all departments.
  8. Ensure that all Head Office and Executive management authorised trading limits are adhered to and immediately reported to HO Treasury if a breach occurs.
  9. To assist in ensuring that interest rate quotations will be market related.
  10. To maintain a continuous good working relationship with Treasury and Treasury back office by ensuring proper processes are followed and service standards are maintained.
  11. To be able to communicate with customers, counterparties and departmental stakeholders regarding any changes of current interest rates.
  12. To ensure that corporate values are lived out in all interaction with customers.
  13. To ensure clients are compliant according to the FIC Act and internal compliance policies.
  14. To obtain necessary FICA/RE-ID documents from new and existing clients.
  15. To ensure FATCA and CRS information from clients are obtained when required.
  16. To maintain record-keeping of compliance commitments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. B. Com or similar.
  2. Investment related qualifications.
  3. Minimum of 5 – 10 years’ experience in Financial Service Industry specialised in Investment/ Portfolio Management as well as Wealth Management.
  4. South African Citizen / ID.
  5. Computer Literacy (MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  6. Strong analytical and interpretation skills, and strong communications skills.
  7. Ability to multitask with ad hoc requests, and deliver within deadlines.
  8. Strong work ethics, and ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Ability to analyse and identify risk.
  10. Business Development, economic and market research and Compliance Management.
  11. Understanding of Money Market products and development of new business.
  12. Experience as Client Relationship Manager, management of corporate clients as well as Asset Management.
