Job description

ENVIRONMENT:

A global full-service commercial bank offering corporate, personal, and investment banking, wealth management, and treasury services is currently seeking an Investment Manager to join their Cape Town offices. Duties will include to ensure the effective marketing of KPI related products for Cape Town Office, to facilitate the day to day funding, and to focus on CCB’s future funding strategies in accordance with the applicable policies and procedures of the Bank.

DUTIES:

Marketing Capability and Product Marketing

  • Source new clients to attract investments and meet Treasury and Executive targets.
  • Increase the number of new investors.
  • Assist Corporate Banking in attracting new business and cross-selling loan products, cross-border investments, and EOB.
  • Market all treasury products effectively.
  • Complete all assigned tasks on the must-do list annually.

Internal Management

  • Maintain strong contact and working relationships with Treasury and all CCB Johannesburg departments.
  • Ensure adherence to treasury liquidity, concentration, and risk limits.
  • Quote accurate, market-related interest rates to maintain reputation and customer trust.
  • Communicate interest rate changes to customers and stakeholders within one working day.
  • Ensure proper processes and service standards with Treasury and back office.
  • Confirm trades timeously via email for system capture.
  • Uphold corporate values and enhance the CCB brand in all client interactions.
  • Monitor client needs and maintain good working relationships through regular meetings.
  • Support day-to-day funding and contribute to future funding strategies in line with treasury policies.
  • Ensure cost-effective funding solutions through daily product calculations with Treasury.
  • Assist Treasury with LCR/NSFR and liquidity management compliance.

Compliance Management

  • Obtain FICA documents from new and existing clients for Re-ID and onboarding.
  • Ensure adherence to internal compliance procedures.
  • Collect annual AML Questionnaire information from asset managers.
  • Report suspicious and unusual transactions within regulatory timeframes.
  • Conduct regular client Re-IDs based on risk ratings.
  • Capture accurate customer information in NGS and KYC files, maintaining compliance registers.
  • Attend required training sessions from HR, Compliance, and other departments.

Brand Expansion and Social Responsibility

  • Participate in charity events organized by the Cape Town office.
  • Assist in arranging hospitality for delegations, government officials, and clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

Formal Qualifications Required

  • Related degree or equivalent — Essential

Job Related Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry, specializing in Investment/Portfolio Management and Wealth Management — Essential

Job Related Knowledge Required

  • Business Development — Desirable
  • Economic and Market Research — Desirable
  • Compliance Management — Desirable
