Job description

A leading financial services provider in Cape Town is currently seeking a driven Investment Analyst to join their team.

This role offers an opportunity for a commercially minded financial professional to contribute to the company’s ongoing growth and success. As an Investment Analyst, you will be exposed to funding, lending, financial modelling, credit analysis, deal structuring, and capital placement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse client financial statements and key ratios to assess lending capacity and funding feasibility.
  • Conduct operational and commercial due diligence to identify business strengths, risks, and investment viability.
  • Build and interpret financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support deal structuring and investment decisions.
  • Prepare investment memoranda, funding packs, and pitch materials for presentation to investors and lenders.
  • Engage in investor and stakeholder management, including executive-level presentations and negotiations.
  • Monitor and manage deals post-execution, including covenant tracking, risk management, and performance analysis.
  • Contribute to business growth through capital origination, process improvement, and collaboration within a high-performing team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified CA(SA), CIMA or minimum CFA Level II
  • 2+ years of experience in Finance, Banking, Investment Management, Private Equity, or Corporate Finance
  • Exposure to SME and mid-market lending, transaction structuring, structured finance, or investment management
  • Skilled in identifying credit risks, conducting financial evaluations, and supporting sound investment decisions.
  • Advanced MS Excel and financial modelling skills (i.e income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, stress testing, scenario analysis)

Salary:

  • R780 000 - R960 000 / year CTC depending on the candidate’s experience
