MAS Europe covers investments in manufacturing, agribusiness, and services sectors (including health, education, tourism, retail, and property) in emerging European countries, which can account for up to 80% of overall economic activity in these countries. These sectors play a critical role in providing goods and services, creating jobs, contributing to government revenue, and stimulating economic growth.

MAS Europe is seeking Investment Analysts (IA) to work with IFC’s investment officers responsible for designing, negotiating, structuring, and supervising investment projects in Vienna, Austria; Warsaw, Poland; or Tbilisi, Georgia. Investment Analysts help identify new projects, assist in deal execution, advise private companies on restructuring, and utilize financial instruments such as risk management tools.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Build and maintain financial models, including projections.
  2. Analyze historical financial statements and prepare reports on financial health and viability.
  3. Assess financial projections and business viability.
  4. Monitor operational and financial performance of client companies, evaluate risks, and recommend portfolio management actions.
  5. Conduct industry and market research to support IFC’s business development.
  6. Prepare presentations and documentation for internal reporting, external communication, marketing, and outreach.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients, ensuring responsiveness and coordination.
  8. Map business opportunities for IFC.
  9. Identify data needs for investment assessment, including financial, market, development impact, and ESG considerations.
  10. Extract lessons from previous IFC investments to inform new transaction structuring and monitoring.
  11. Participate in negotiations as needed.
Selection Criteria
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a financial institution, especially in investment projects.
  • Proficiency in developing complex financial models.
  • Experience in financial statement analysis.
  • Skills in accounting, finance, DCF, scenario analysis, and comparable analysis.
  • Ability to conduct market and industry research.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English; additional regional languages are a plus.
  • Attention to detail and ability to synthesize large information sets.
  • Proficiency in using graphics and tables for data presentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Understanding of how investments impact economic, market, and social development.
  • Motivated, ethical, and capable of working in multicultural teams.
  • Genuine interest in development finance and alignment with IFC’s mission and values.
