NAME OF THE ROLE: INVESTMENT ADMINISTRATOR – IMPLEMENTATIONS AND TRANSITIONS

Sygnia is an innovative FinTech company based in South Africa and listed on the main board of the JSE. The company provides asset management, stockbroking and administration services, as well as a wide range of savings products, to institutional and retail clients. All that we do is supported by leading-edge technology platforms.

This role is within the Institutional Investment Administration department, a hard-working team, dedicated to providing superior service to clients.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to) taking responsibility

  • Optimal management of product asset allocations, by processing of cash flows pertaining to the investment/ disinvestment of client funds with the relevant asset managers
  • Execute investment strategies across various portfolios as per Portfolio manager instructions.
  • Perform transition management functions relating to portfolio restructures, large client take-ons/off boardings
  • Processing of scrip and safex transactions
  • Assist with the onboarding of new asset managers
  • Dealing with asset managers and custodians relating to asset transfers
  • Processing of EFT payments and transfers to internal bank accounts, asset managers and clients
  • Reporting to clients (within transition), including dissemination of unit prices and trade confirmation statements
  • Perform bank and scrip reconciliations
  • Payment and processing of monthly management fees
  • Perform daily controls and resolve all discrepancies
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external managers, brokers and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Continue to review and enhance processes

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor of Business Science degree/ Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent tertiary qualification. Studies towards or a CFA charter will be advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years investment administration experience would be required
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in implementations or transitions would be advantageous.
