Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Conduct investigative audits and inspections
Evidence gathering related to criminal activities in order to conduct proper investigations
Compliance with investigation procedures and strategy for investigations within Khutala Colliery
Effective and prompt response to client requests on matters requiring investigation
Continuous engagement and communication with all relevant stakeholders (both internal and external)
Manage crime risks through incident trends analysis and implement preventative steps
Ensure that reported incidents are appropriately documented and critical information is disseminated in a timely manner; this includes thorough review of reports for accuracy and completeness
Required to know and follow safe work practices and to be aware of relevant company policies and procedures
Comply with relevant legislative acts and security standards
National Advanced Certificate in Security Management or related field
Registered with the Private Security Industry Registration Authority (PSIRA), Grade A
Firearm certificate of competency
3 Years experience in security risk management environment and investigation
No criminal record
Must be willing to undergo an assessment
Experience in conducting investigations
Experience in giving evidence in court or disciplinary hearings is essential
Ability to define problems, collect accurate information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Strong interviewing skills
Good report writing skills are a necessity
Good communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels i.e. stakeholders such as SAPS, Crime Intelligence, department of Justice Office, and other government security agencies
Solid knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and regulations including the Labour Relations Act (LRA), Basic Conditions Employment Act (BCEA), Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), Criminal Procedure Act, Law of Evidence, and all applicable legislation
Ability to exercise tact and good judgement with highly sensitive information
Respect for confidentiality and human dignity
Must be willing and able to work overtime, shifts and call outs
Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Valid K53 driver’s license
In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
Advantageous:
SAPS Detective qualification
Experience within the mining industry
