The key purpose of this role is to act as the Zone Owner for returnable assets (Empties). This includes full ownership of financial performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and leadership of related projects. The role is accountable for the control and overall management of returnable containers across the Zone.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Zone Ownership and active management of the empties losses in the supply chain.
- Cross-functional action plans, mitigations in reducing empties’ losses.
- High level Reporting and presentations to directors and VP’s of Empties, Losses and Root-Cause Analysis.
- Strong relationship with global to ensure global best practices are adopted in the Zone.
- Tracking and reporting on empties losses and gap closure through mitigation plans put in place.
- Coach and implement best practices to mitigate excessive empties losses in inventory holding.
- Coach and implement best practice to ensure adherence to inventory count procedures and assist with coordinating monthly stock count activities.
- Manage and mitigate losses in all areas of the supply chain.
- Optimization, target-setting and tracking of losses by area.
- Identification and implementation Value-Add (VA) initiatives/opportunities.
- Returnable containers loss budgeting, tracking and monitoring.
- Review of Daily controls impacting empties and ensuring standardized best practice is applied across the Zone.
- Maintain and ensure a high standard of data accuracy within the Inventory reporting system(s).
- Liaising with the respective planning teams to in order to deliver input into the Medium to Long-Term Inventory planning.
- Deliver input into the 1YP budgeting, tracking and measuring teams for STI performance sign off.
- Inputs into all Excellence programs undertaken by zone (DPO/VPO/LCP).
- Knowledge of MBFU and FRI processes.
Key Attributes and Competencies:
- Strong experience in management of finished goods and/or raw materials management.
- Strong end to end Supply Chain expertise.
- Ability to effectively communicate at senior levels at MANCOM and Global Levels.
- Able to effectively communicate and interact with cross functional stakeholders, Internal and external customers at all levels of the Company.
- Strong knowledge of finance management.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors or post-graduate degree qualification in a relevant field: B.Sc. Degree in Engineering or Econometrics, Finance or Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain, Economics, Accounting Science, MBA recommended.
- 5Years experience in logistics and supply chain management and finance background.
- Experience in FMCG Industry would be advantageous.
- SYSPRO and SAP proficient.
