Job summary

Peoplefinder Career Placements is seeking an Inventory Planner in the retail sector to optimize the distribution centre inventory and coordinate supplier accounts. You will forecast, plan replenishment, and ensure products reach shelves through data-driven decisions.

Ideal candidates have 2 years in supply chain, strong Excel (Pivot Tables) and good communication; SAP knowledge is a plus. This is a full-time role based in Cape Town.

Qualifications

• Matric with a degree in Supply Chain or relevant qualification.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in supply chain.
• Excellent product knowledge.
• Excellent Computer Literacy (MS Office - Pivot Tables).

Inventory Planner

Our client, in the retail industry, requires the service of an Inventory Planner to manage the Supply Chain by optimizing inventory mix in the DC through effective management of key supplier accounts and product ranges. The Inventory Planner will also facilitate all products through the supply chain until on the shelf.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key performance areas:

• System coordination of supplier accounts to optimize most profitable ordering patterns/frequency
• Item parameter setting and data analysis to enable optimal forecasting results
• Place supplier purchase orders to ensure achievement of inventory and service

Desired Experience & Qualification

The successful candidate must have:

• Matric with a degree in Supply Chain or relevant qualification
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in supply chain
• Excellent product knowledge
• Excellent Computer Literacy (MS Office - Especially Excel - Pivot Tables)
• SAP Knowledge will be advantageous
• Must have excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
