Inventory Manager

Introduction

A vacancy exists for an Inventory Manager, reporting to the Pharmacy Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Effective product management: Drive purchasing in line with standardized procurement agreements to reduce cost of care. Actively manage the cost of sales of surgical stock in line with budget. Build effective working relationships with nursing staff and doctors as key stakeholders.
  2. Effective asset management: Drive surgical stock management in the hospital to achieve targets and ensure stock security. Ensure optimal management of consignment and loan stock with related controls and processes. Drive system utilization.
  3. Effective financial management: Ensure procedures related to surgical stock align with best practices. Participate in achieving hospital budgeted financial measures related to stock. Report inventory incidents, develop remedial actions, and perform trend analysis quarterly with the Pharmacy Manager. Report pharmacy stock alerts and develop remedial actions. Participate in the LHC Quality Management Systems process for continuous improvement.
  4. Customer satisfaction and quality initiatives: Identify and implement initiatives to enhance service levels.
  5. People management: Recruit, retain, motivate, and develop staff according to policies. Provide direction and inspire positive work behavior.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 National Certificate
  • Degree or diploma in a relevant field
