Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in Elandsfontein is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to lead inbound and stock control functions. The role focuses on improving stock accuracy across units and aligning with the company’s strategic vision.

You will manage receiving, stock movements, and a clerical team, drive stock counts, FIFO, and ensure SAP data is accurate. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is required.
• Degree or Tertiary Diploma in Warehousing and Logistics preferred.
• Strong people management experience with a track record of leadership.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills required.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Receiving: reduce turnaround time, liaise with suppliers on quality issues, ensure accuracy in SAP.
• Lead Stock Management: improve stock accuracy, manage monthly counts, investigate variances and authorize adjustments.
• Manage People: lead and mentor team, recruit/train inventory staff, report stock variances daily.
• Enhance Customer Service: improve stock accuracy across units, meet internal SLAs, drive process improvements.
• Oversee Reverse Logistics and stock: manage scrap/rotations, ensure batteries condition checks, spot counts, and process improvements.

A salaried position exists for an Inventory Manager at Elandsfontein. Applications are invited from suitable persons with the required qualifications and experience.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Lead the receiving and inventory (Inbound) departments to contribute positively to improve customer service, by improving the stock accuracy across all business units and ensuring alignment with the strategic vision of the Company.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Educational Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Degree or Tertiary Diploma in Warehousing and Logistics

Experience

• At least 8 years of Stock Management experience.
• 3 years should be at Management Level
• At least 5 years experience in respect of inbound logistics

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY RESULTS AREAS

Receiving

• Reduce Turnaround time of Supplier vehicles - improve weekly scheduling.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding quality-related issues.
• Suggest improvements in receiving process.
• Ensuring what is received is correctly captured on SAP.
• Ensure stock quality is adhered to at the point of receiving, and flag non -compliance.

Stock Management

• Manage the Stock clerical team to improve our stock accuracy.
• Manage and Lead Monthly counts.
• Investigate and close out findings.
• Report on findings and variances daily.
• Initiate and authorise stock adjustments.
• Initiate the SAV process and make sure the SAV and Labelling are done immediately.
• Improve the stock rotation (FIFO) process.
• Lead team to improve batch refills.
• WMS custodian.
• Audit current processes and suggest improvement and implement initiatives.
• Contribute to the improvement of the CDC OTIF percentage.

People Management

• Lead a diverse team to improve the company's overall stock view.
• Mentor and train subordinates.
• Regular meetings with team and Management.
• Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.
• Report daily, weekly and monthly on stock variance and adjustments.
• Reduce stock write-offs.
• All Migo's done relating to daily receiving.
• Oversee the APDP process and compliance.

Customer Service

• Contribute positively to improving our customer service by maintaining a high level of stock accuracy amount at all business units.
• Collaborate and liaise with internal customers.
• Ensure compliance with internal SLA by the Distribution team.
• Initiate continuous improvement initiatives to improve stock management and accuracy.
• Improve Receiving and Inventory processes.

Reverse Logistics Management

• Involved in Stock counts of Scrap, Rotations and seconds.
• Oversee the scrap sent to Frys.
• Involved in receiving the rotations from Reverse logistics in the Main warehouse.
• Ensuring the batteries are in good condition and voltage in main and reverse.
• Conduct regular spot counts on the stock in Reverse Logistics.
• Oversee and improve the reverse logistics stock management process.
