Purpose of the Role:

The Inventory Clerk will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring that all inventory-related activities are conducted efficiently and in compliance with company policies. This position reports to the Inventory Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records by conducting regular physical counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or overages to the Inventory Manager.
  • Assist in the receiving, storing and issuing of inventory items.
  • Ensure that all inventory items are properly labeled and stored in designated locations.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of inventory items.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory reports including stock levels, usage and discrepancies.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of inventory management systems.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized inventory storage area.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address inventory-related issues and improve processes.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Grade 12
  • 1-2 years of experience in inventory management or logistics.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy items, stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
