Southern Cross Schools is a 4-term independent, co-educational day and boarding school located in a wildlife estate in Hoedspruit, Limpopo. The beautiful natural environment in which the school is located, is used as a vehicle to teach the national curriculum. The school extends from Grade 000 to Grade 12, is a member of ISASA, and its learners sit the Grade 12 IEB examinations.

Applicants should be self-motivated individuals with a commitment to both education and environmental conservation. A clear passion for the bush, for interacting with young children, for sport and for outdoor living is essential. Applicants must be prepared to be involved in developing an integrated thematic approach to delivering the curriculum and willing to participate in the broader life of the school. An understanding of the value of extra-mural participation for both staff and learners is vital. Applicants must be prepared to work as part of an accomplished team.

ONLY CANDIDATES WITH INTERSEN PHASE QUALIFICATIONS AND PROVEN EXPERIENCE IN ENGLISH HOME LANGUAGE TO APPLY

QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITERIA

• A recognised and relevant teaching qualification (B.Ed./PGCE/National Diploma)
• Valid SACE registration and proof of qualification.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching English Home Language.
• Proficient in English (language of instruction) both spoken and written.
• A valid driver’s licence. A PrDP is required.
